<Research>CICC: Southbound Fund Inflow to BABA-W Tops $16.4B Last Wk, Ranking 1st

In recent week, there has been a continuous inflow of capital from the Southbound Stock Connect, while there has been a continuous outflow of overseas active capital, CICC released a report as saying. Data from EPFR showed that overseas active funds continued to flow out of overseas Chinese stock markets this week, with an outflow of about US$250 million, an increment from the previous week's US$210 million, notching an outflow for 70 consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, overseas passive capital turned to an outflow of US$100 million (inflow of US$170 million the previous week). Southbound capital continued to flow in this week, in an amount of HK$12.53 billion, more than that from the previous week's inflow of HK$9.27 billion. It was worth mentioning that BABA-W (09988.HK), which attracted much attention in the market, was officially included in the Southbound Stock Connect last week and was widely favored by Southbound investors.
