CN to Expand Visa-free Scope for Travel of CN/ Foreign Personnel to 9 Countries Like JP, Optimize Immigration Policy

In order to further facilitate the travel of Chinese and foreign personnel, China decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries, and implement the visa-free policy on a trial basis for holders of ordinary passports in Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Japan from 30 November 2024 to 31 December 2025, according to the announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC (MoFA).

Furthermore, China decided to simultaneously optimize its immigration policy by including exchange visits in the reason for visa waiver and extending the duration of stay from the current 15 days to 30 days.
