The Macau government held an interdepartmental press conference on Wednesday (22nd) to present various projected figures for the Chinese New Year holiday period in the Mainland. The Macau Public Security Police Force anticipated that the average daily border crossings during the eight-day Chinese New Year holiday will range from 630,000 to 670,000, marking a YoY rise of 3%. The peak of border crossings is expected to occur on the fourth and fifth days of the New Year. The Macau Government Tourism Office also revealed that the hotel booking rate in Macau as of last Thursday (16th) reached nearly 80%, which is believed to further increase as the holiday approaches.
