Hong Kong stocks opened higher in the morning session. The HSI opened 102 points or 0.5% higher at 19,881.320. The HSCEI opened 43 points or 0.6% higher at 7,221. The HSTECH opened 33 points or 0.7% higher at 4,615.

For techs, BABA-W (09988.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) climbed 2%, while TENCENT (00700.HK) ebbed 0.1% to $383. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) picked up 0.5-1.1%, while KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) added 0.2%. Chip stocks inclined along with the peripheral market, with SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) gaining 2.1% and 1.9%.

Carmakers GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) jumped 1.7% and 2%, while XPENG-W (09868.HK) dropped 1.1%. Car agency ZHONGSHENG HLDG (00881.HK) ticked up 1.8%. Caterer YUM CHINA (09987.HK) ascended 0.6% as it considered declaring quarterly dividend.
