The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) named the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou cluster as number one on its index of the world's top 100 innovation clusters, the Global Innovation Index 2025.

Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Sun Dong, told reporters that the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou cluster rose from second to first place globally.
