The pace of "anti-involution" in China's courier industry is picking up, according to China's official media outlet Securities Times. Recently, several courier companies have raised delivery fees for e-commerce clients in major e-commerce hubs such as Guangdong and Zhejiang. Beyond Zhejiang and Guangdong, the industry also expects price increases in Fujian, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shandong, and other regions. Based on information from some courier outlets and e-commerce merchants in Zhejiang, the report said that e-commerce delivery prices have indeed been raised to varying degrees since late July and early August. The fee hikes have had a particularly noticeable impact on discounted courier services and small parcels, though overall business volume at major courier outlets remains stable for now.
