BYD COMPANY: Court Enforces Judgment Against Defamatory Self-media Account

BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)'s legal department posted in its Weibo account that Chinese self-media, Longzhu-Jiche, and its related accounts were found guilty of infringement by a Chinese court in the first instance for persistently publishing a large volume of false and defamatory information about BYD COMPANY. The court ordered the defendants to apologize, remove the infringing content and compensate BYD COMPANY for economic losses totaling RMB2.0187 million. Chinese court of the second instance also upheld the original judgment. The compensation amount has been received through court enforcement, while the actual controller of the self-media and its related accounts submitted a written apology to BYD COMPANY, the post added.
