BYD Li Ke: Hungarian Plant to Commence Production in 2Q26

The Hungarian factory of BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)(002594.SZ) will commence production in the second quarter of next year, Bloomberg reported, quoting Li Ke, Executive Vice President of the Chinese automaker. Currently, a data center is being constructed in Europe, with plans to establish a design center in Italy. Li also reiterated that there have been so far no plans to enter the U.S. market. Regarding market claims that BYD has initiated a price war in the Mainland EV market this year, Li shattered these claims by stating that BYD's large scale makes it an easy target for attacks, and emphasizing that big discounts have been frozen.
