Japan’s Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama issued a renewed warning on currency movements Wednesday (12th), as the yen weakened further toward the psychologically significant 155 level against the US dollar. The yen last dipped 0.3% to 154.5 per dollar.

Katayama stated that she cannot deny the negative impact of the yen’s weakness on the economy has become more pronounced than its positive effects.
