The HSI opened 15 points or 0.06% higher at 25,780. The HSCEI dipped less than 1 point to 9,083. The HSTECH dropped 6 points or 0.11% to 5,656. In the tech sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened up 1.1%, the best performer among blue chips. TENCENT (00700.HK) edged 0.7% higher. LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) added 0.4% and 0.2%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), BILIBILI-W (09626.HK), and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) fell 0.2-1.1%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) remained flat. As US President Donald Trump announced permission for Nvidia (NVDA.US) to sell H200 chips to China, chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) slipped 1.7% and 1.3% at open. Among carmakers, NIO-SW (09866.HK) opened rallying 1.4%. XPENG-W (09868.HK) also gained 1.3%. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) inched down 0.1%. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) stayed unchanged.
