Fitch Raises US GDP Growth Forecast to 1.8%, Estimates CN Economic Growth at 4.8% This Yr

The surge in IT-related investments and the wealth effect from a booming stock market are cushioning the impact of tariff hikes on the US economy, said Fitch Ratings. Fitch has raised its global economic growth forecast but expects the growth rate to slow from 2.9% in 2024 to 2.5% in 2025 and further to 2.4% in 2026. In Fitch's estimates, the US GDP will grow by 1.8% in 2025 and 1.9% in 2026, an upward revision of 0.2 and 0.3 ppts respectively from earlier expectations. Meanwhile, China's economic growth is expected to accelerate by 0.1 ppt to 4.8% in 2025, but it may slow to 4.1% next year. AAStocks Financial News |
