The National Energy Work Conference for 2026 was held in Beijing yesterday (15th), underscoring that the energy work in 2026 should promote higher levels of energy security assurance. The conference mentioned the need to steadily advance the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, to continuously raise the proportion of new energy supply, with more than 200 GW of new wind and solar power installations throughout the year, to orderly advance major hydropower projects, to actively and safely develop nuclear power, and to strengthen the clean and efficient use of fossil energy. The conference further stated the organization of "AI+" energy integration pilot projects and "AI+" energy standardization enhancement actions, solidly advancing major projects in smart grid technology and equipment breakthroughs, and proactively planning for future energy industries such as hydrogen energy and nuclear energy.
