UBTECH ROBOTICS (09880.HK) spent over RMB1.66 billion to acquire FENGLONG (002931.SZ)'s equities. UBTECH ROBOTICS opened 7.2% higher this morning (29th) before its gains expanded in the morning session, and peaked at $122. It last printed at $121.5, surging 10.96%. Trading volume surged to 9.4437 million shares, involving $1.13 billion. Its peer DOBOT (02432.HK) last printed at $34.16, shooting up 8.03%, with a turnover of $166 million.

GAC GROUP (02238.HK), which has ventured into humanoid robotics, last mounted 3.5% at $4.14, with a turnover of $59.0214 million. XPENG-W (09868.HK) last printed at $80.2, advancing 5.39%, with a turnover of $791 million. Robot parts supplier SANHUA (02050.HK) also mushroomed 5.2%, with a turnover of $386 million.

UBTECH ROBOTICS announced on Christmas Eve (24 December) that it acquired a total of 65.5299 million FENGLONG shares from four independent third parties, and proposed a partial tender offer for 28.45 million shares at a price of RMB17.72 per share. The total cash consideration of RMB1.665 billion shall be satisfied by cash derived from internal resources.
