Copper prices have leapfrogged in recent weeks, surpassing Citi's bullish target of US$12,000 per ton for 0-3 months and US$13,000 per ton for 6-12 months set in the "2026 annual commodities outlook" of the broker.

Citi remained tactically optimistic about copper prices in the coming weeks and raised the 0 to 3-month target to US$14,000 per ton. However, the broker maintained its base case forecast unchanged, with an average price of US$13,000 per ton for 2Q-4Q26.
