Having been on a rising streak recently, NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK) opened flat this morning (19th), but it took off during early trading, soaring to an over one-year high of HKD10.78 since October 2024. It last traded at HKD10.67, up 12.08%, on a volume of 24.8265 million shares, involving HKD257 million.

Last week, Marriott International was said to be planning an acquisition of Rosewood Hotels under NEW WORLD DEV's parent company Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. However, Rosewood Hotels clarified that the group and its brands were not for sale.
