The economy in Mainland China is now facing strong supply but weak demand, Wang Changlin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office in implementing the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and promoting a good start to the "15th Five-Year Plan".

The next step is to comprehensively expand domestic demand, with a focus on adapting to the trend of upgrading the national demand structure, said Wang. In line with the needs of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, the NDRC will research and develop a 2026-2030 domestic demand expansion strategy implementation plan within the year, creating new demand through new supply and providing forceful innovative measures and factor guarantees.
