Bessent: CN Rare Earth Supply Meets Expectations with 90%+ Fulfillment Rate

While attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in an interview with Fox Business that he had met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, and noted that China had fulfilled all the commitments it claimed it would undertake.

Bessent, speaking of the issue of rare earth magnets, said that the supply of rare earths by China meets expectations, with a fulfillment rate topping 90%, which he finds quite satisfactory.

He also mentioned that China had fulfilled its commitment to purchase US soybeans, with plans to buy 25 million tons over the next year. He indicated that China may purchase more, as US President Donald Trump frequently raises the issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
