AI startup Anthropic CEO, Dario Amodei, labelled the decision by the US to allow the sale of advanced AI chips to China as 'crazy' during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He believed that the approval by US President Donald Trump last week to sell Nvidia (NVDA.US)'s H200 chips to China has significant impact for US national security, directly calling the decision a mistake. Nvidia currently supplies chips to Anthropic, which powers its AI models, including its AI assistant Claude.
