The HSI closed the day up 44 points or 0.17% at 26,629. The HSCEI fell 8 points or 0.1% to close at 9,114. The HSTECH rose 16 points or 0.28%, closing at 5,762. The total market turnover for the day amounted to HKD234.86 billion. Following the memory chip stock rally in external markets, chip equipment stock ASMPT (00522.HK) soared 6.3% to close at HKD108.2. As for chip makers, SMIC (00981.HK) gained 0.8%. HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) and BIREN TECH (06082.HK) rose 3.2% and 3%. INNOSCIENCE (02577.HK) leaped 5.1%. ILUVATAR COREX (09903.HK) rocketed 22.5%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) ticked up 4.1% to HKD160. JPMorgan raised its target price to HKD195, expecting its 4Q25 revenue and adjusted earnings to show QoQ improvements. Among other tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) dipped 0.8% and 0.3%. BABA-W (09988.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) gained 1% and 1.4%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) inched down 0.4% and 0.5%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) grew 3.3%. In addition, PA GOODDOCTOR (01833.HK) and JD HEALTH (06618.HK) shed 4.3% and 2.9%. AI stocks UNISOUND (09678.HK) and FOURTH PARADIGM (06682.HK) plunged 9.8% and 4.9%. INSILICO (03696.HK) swelled 3.3%. Car maker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) edged up 0.7%, while XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) lost 0.5%. XPENG-W (09868.HK) and SERES (09927.HK) eroded 3% and 2.8%. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) rose 4.1% and 2.3%. POP MART (09992.HK) shot up 6%. Xinhua News Agency's interview with Wang Ning, POP MART's founder, will be aired at 12 pm tomorrow.
