Copper prices skyrocketed to all-time highs this morning (29th), Hong Kong time, with the three-month benchmark copper futures on the London Metal Exchange (LME) growing to USD13,965/ ton, marking an approximate 12% year-to-date increment. Other major base metal prices also saw increases, with aluminum prices hitting a three-year high. Commodity prices have been advancing so far this year due to a depreciating US dollar, rising demand for physical assets, and escalating geopolitical tensions stemming from the Trump administration's more assertive foreign policy. Spot gold last jumped up by 2.43% to USD5,548.37/ oz, while gold futures for February delivery last soared 4.25% to USD5,528.8/ oz. Spot silver last added 0.51% to USD117.288/ oz, and silver futures for March delivery last spiked 3.42% to USD117.415/ oz. AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com |
