CN New Energy Storage Capacity Surges 84% YoY by End-2025: NEA

In 2025, the pace of green and low-carbon transformation in China accelerated, with annual new wind and photovoltaic installations exceeding 430 million kilowatts, and the cumulative installed capacity surpassing 1.8 billion kilowatts, the National Energy Administration (NEA) announced at a press conference. Renewable energy generation installations also accounted for more than 60%.

Data shows that by the end of 2025, China's new energy storage capacity increased by 84% compared to the end of 2024. The nationwide scale of new energy storage installations built and operational grew more than 40 times compared to the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, achieving leapfrog development.
