Based on data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Reuters gauged the price index for newly built commercial residential properties in 70 large and medium-sized cities in January 2026 fell by 3.1% YoY, marking the largest decline in seven months.

Among the 70 large and medium-sized cities last month, the price index for newly built homes rose MoM in 5 cities, compared to 6 in December 2025; fell in 62 cities, compared to 58 in December 2025; and remained unchanged in 3 cities, compared to 6 in December 2025, according to the calculations.
