Sales of Home Appliances/ Digital Smart Products in CN Up 21.7% YoY During Spring Festival Holiday

During the nine-day Spring Festival holiday this year, sales of 5.106 million units of six categories of home appliances for trade-in and four categories of digital and smart products with new purchase subsidies grew by 21.7% compared to last year's Spring Festival holiday, according to the Securities Times, citing information from the Ministry of Commerce of China. Category-wise, smart glasses were included in the new purchase subsidy range for the first time this year. During the holiday, the inquiry and purchase volume of digital products in regions such as Tianjin, Chongqing, and Sichuan skyrocketed. Meanwhile, there was a clear trend of consumption structure optimization and upgrading, with data showing that mid-to-high-end mobile phone products accounted for 65%.
