The U.S. government has so far had no plans to immediately release oil from the national emergency reserves in response to soaring crude oil and gasoline prices following the war with Iran, Bloomberg, citing people with the knowledge of the matter, reported. Currently, U.S. crude oil reserves stand at approximately 415 million barrels, slightly above half of its maximum capacity of approximately 700 million barrels. A White House spokesperson stated that, with the development of new markets and the oil agreement reached with Venezuela, the U.S. government is committed to achieving record-high U.S. oil production. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that a plan to mitigate surging energy costs will be launched, while not providing further details. AAStocks Financial News |
